Since I first hit the road 3 years ago, I have traveled to over 25 different countries and despite enjoying the new countries and places that I have visited, it is India which stole my heart. I have spent over one year exploring the country, indulging in some of the best motorcycle tours India has to offer, exploring the cities, the heartlands and the culture here. Because of the amount of time which I have spent in India, I feel as though I am qualified enough to give you an idea of some of the best destinations in India which you need to visit during your time there. And so without further ado, here are the 5 destinations which you simply must visit in India.

Goa
The beautiful state of Goa in Western India is very popular with tourists, and with good reason! This coastal region is blessed with beautiful weather and the alluring Arabian Sea which is where you will find most of the life of the region. Not only does Goa possess outstanding natural beauty, it is also highly rich in culture and history from its days as a Portuguese colony. If you want to party, this is the place to do it.

New Delhi
I really love the capital of India, New Delhi, it is a chaotic and vibrant city where you can really get to grips with Indian culture. In spite of the fact that it is the capital, much of the city feels very rural and the entire city is blessed with old mosques and ancient architecture which you will see as you wander throughout the city streets.

Jaipur
The city of Jaipur is the capital of the state of Rajasthan and it is the best place in the country to experience some of that mouthwatering Indian cuisine. The city is notable for its pink buildings and its opulent Palace Complex and it is one of the more relaxed cities in the country. If you are looking to indulge in food and relaxation, this city should be on your list.

Agra
A trip to India wouldn’t be complete without visiting the famous Taj Mahal, a fascinating and intricate mausoleum and one of the world’s Seven Wonders. Agra is really a great city to explore and beyond the Taj Mahal you will find many old tombs and ancient buildings which have been almost perfect preserved. This is the city for history lovers and explorers.

Bombay (Mumbai)
The city on the west coast is one of India’s most densely populated and it is not only the biggest city in the country bit also India’s financial capital. Mumbai is much more modern than its counterparts and it is a great place to go shopping, explore the Bollywood film industry and enjoy some of the finest fusion food on the country.

If you haven’t visited India yet, why not get some of these destinations on your list.
