This week’s photo is from my recent trip to San Diego, California and is a national monument. I love visiting national parks and monuments, and this one was a particular favorite of mine. Cabrillo is one of the country’s most visited monuments and after having seen it in person I now know why.

The statue is made of limestone and stands 14 feet tall. Located on the Point Loma peninsula it overlooks downtown San Diego and offers breathtaking views of the harbor and pacific ocean. It was well worth the time to stop by and visit.
