Find out what my top 5 recommendations to see and visit in Colorado Springs, Co. are. The city is often overlooked for Denver or Aspen but has a lot to offer. I spent a week in and around this city for the New Year’s holiday with friends and it was a wonderful dose of the great outdoors and nature’s beauty.

A sunset from the beach on Ambergris Caye, Belize’s largest island; located in the Caribbean ocean. Every night we sat out on the beach and enjoyed beautiful, picture perfect sunsets like this one; along with the sound of calm ocean waves splashing onto the beach. Normally I can’t stand to sit still long but it was very relaxing and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Pictured are the jagged, rocky cliffs inside Zion National Park, Utah. Shot on a hot sunny day in July, 2012 during our hike to the upper emerald pools on the other side of the valley. I’ve traveled through much of the Southwestern U.S. and haven’t seen many landscapes more beautiful than those found inside Utah’s national parks.

One of the highlights of my week long trip to Roatan was diving the swim-throughs (underwater tunnels and caverns). Two of my favorites and the biggest of these were at the dive sites called the underground and the dolphin’s den located on the north-east side of the island.

Once known as Air Force Facility Missile Site 8, the museum is a ‘retired’ and disabled ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile) site located in the desert south of Tuscon, Arizona.

Filled with mystery from the days the Mayans used it for rituals, I took a canoe through the popular Barton Creek Cave in the Cayo District of Belize. Regarded as one of the largest caves in the world at over 4.5 miles long and on land surrounded by Mennonites this day was a great adventure I’ll not soon forget.

Pictured is a modest home in Belize. These wooden houses sitting on top of stilts are a common sight all over Belize’s islands and much of the eastern coast on the mainland.
